I don't know about other hockey fans but this wasn't exactly a big surprise or a shock. I think for me I took it similiar to when a strike broke out for baseball. Of course, I don't watch baseball anymore having found that spending time outdoors enjoying my summer more entertaining than sitting at a stadium watching others standing around waiting for a ball to swing their way.
But hockey is a little different. Call it a canadian thing, call it OUR sport it is different in many ways. It is a canadian culture. Having lived in Canada pretty much all my life hockey was probably one of the first english words I muttered. Unfortunately like most businesses, it is business and with some success people strive for more. But is our national sport suppose to be about the greens? In fact are sports suppose to be money at all? Have the people both players and owners forgotten about the game and the enjoyment of the game itself?
